Watch: Dave Rastovich Surfs Indian Shores in Castle in the Sky Series

When Rasta and Steele discovered some of India’s untouched waves

The iconic surf filmmaker Taylor Steele made his first trip to India in 2013 with Dave Rastovich, exploring the untouched waves along India’s shores. As part of his Castle in the Sky series, Dave and Taylor went island hopping after spotting some promising spots on Google Earth.

The short film captures the magnificent breaks of Lakshadweep Island, an archipelago on the west coast of India, along with some breaks by the mainland coast. Even more than a decade after the film was shot, the island still feels like quite a journey to reach its pristine waters, as Taylor recounts the challenges of getting there.

The film also features abstract shots of India, capturing the essence of culture from the west and north to the Indian shores, with Rasta doing what he always did best
