SURFING AS A WAY LIFE

In waves, in film and in silence, Albert "Albe" Falzon surfer, filmmaker, and co-fouder and editor of Tracks had always sought something deeper. In an hour-long conversation, he gave me a glimpse into that pursuit.

… “When you go into the ocean, it feels like you're entering another world. There's the land, and then there;s the ocean. When you step into the sea, you leave behind your thoughts, your worries. It becomes a kind of meditation, even if you don't call it that at the time. it's a deep connection, this feedback loop between you and the natural beauty around you. That;s what surfing gavem me. And I think that's what draws people back again and again.” Albe Falzon

Beyond the boundARY

In his second innings, Jonty Rhodes embraces a fresh current, discovering new adventures along India's untamed coastline.

…The shift wasn't as much about slowing down as it was about learning to show up differently.

Can the future of surfboard making carry this tag? Nico Erni thinks so.

The Pleasures of Being haunted

The surfing obsession that follows us through life.

I remember a child telling me in a session, writes the psychoanalyst, Adam Phillips, that the reason he wanted to be bigger was because he wouldn't have to want to be bigger.

Kishore of Kovalam

Less than a decade into surfing, this young gun is already one of the most promising surfers in the country.

My focus is to make it to the Asian Games, and for that, I'll have to keep staying on the podium.

Life in the Deep South

She left pharma, I left law, and how we traded corporate lives for coastal hustle.

“To some, it seemed an unnecessary indulgence, a game for those with the luxury of choice. But for others, especially the youth, it was an invitation to redefine their relationship with the sea.”

Surfing the unknown

In 2010, I ventured into one of the most restricted parts of the country, The Great Nicobar Islands.

Along with Kirtan and Kunja, we discovered what was then the most perfect wave we had ever seen.
